This month we welcomed our new postdoc Silje Anderdal Bakken to the project! Her focus lies on the consumerization of DNA and what this does to the use of DNA as forensic evidence. How do these changes in the collection, availability and analysis of DNA influence the production of DNA evidence? Some of the keywords being databases, design, privatization, and marketing.
The second part of her project concerns the role of possible technological futures on DNA as evidence, where the main question is how the ability to alter human DNA influences the production of forensic evidence? She will explore both parts of the project through a diverse array of qualitative methods, such as digital ethnography and interviews.
